Love little nothings...

I had a horrible Friday last week and pretty much sulked in tears on the couch ALL day! Around 5ish my stud of a husband walked in the door with a BeAuTiFuL boquet of Yellow roses with one single white rose in the center. Wyatt came in and said, "look what I found on the back porch", I thought he was being modest and gave him a big kiss and smiled. He stated again, "No, really they were just sitting on the porch". I laughed and got a little worried because I had no idea what was going on...I looked for a card and found one, "Kyla, Don't give up!! I.L.Y., Mom"! I love little nothings that pick me up at the exact moment I feel in the dumps. I love that my mom can read my heart without being here. I love that she is my strength and I am so thankful to have her as a mom!

I just thought I would share...

Aren't they gorgeous! I love the thoughtfulness...thanks, mom. I love you, too!

Don't we just love the emotions of being a woman?! Sometimes, I think we definitely got the bad end of the deal...thanks, Eve.

In other news...Wyatt is gone all week! What am I supposed to do with all this time!?! My house is spotless, that happened this morning...my fridge is full, no grocery trips...all my appointments for hair/nails/Dr. etc... are NEXT week, no help there...SO-anyone up for lunch!? Wednesday is my only "booked" day...call the cell or message my facebook!

I love my husbands job and I love my wonderful husband but, I don't love when his job takes him away from me! I can't wait until he gets home!

Total Money Make Over!

My apologies for being such a bad blogger lately! It has been pretty mundane around here, which I have to say is a pretty nice feeling. Wyatt and I still have pretty full weekends but, our week days are going great which means good rest and ready for the next day!

Back in January, Wyatt and I attended the Total Money Make-Over featuring the wonderful Dave Ramsey! We learned a lot about investing, saving, spending, giving etc. Wyatt and I have heard quite a bit about Dave and his steps toward "financial freedom". Wyatt is an avid listener to the Fox business network and to talk radio...all of which Dave hosts segments frequently. That being said, we knew what we were in for. I say that because his plan is NO easy task! Part of me was excited and the other part was screaming, "RUN!" because I wasn't ready to give up my shopping, trips, clothes, dining out...

Here are a few snap shots from the event...

This was actually one of our 'shared' Christmas presents this year...
(the other an elliptical for the workout room :) )

We were in Reliant Arena and it was a packed house!

The man himself...

SHOW ME THE MONEY!

That was actually a huge part of the evening...Dave believes in the power of verbal motivation! We yelled "Show me the money" quite a few times as he pointed out easy ways to be debt free and living like no one else!

One of the most powerful things I got from the seminar was the statement,"Live like no one else so you can live like no one else". Meaning: "Live today like no one else"-stop using credit cards, pay everything off, start real budgeting, say no to frivolous spending etc..."so you can live like no one else"- after you have completed Dave's program it is a proven fact that you can live like no one else! Dave's plan teaches how to make your money work for you. Interesting concept...right!?! LOL! After completing the evening, it was amazing to think about all the little things you can do that make all the difference in the world in regard to your pocket book. Dave made a comment about starting to push his information in schools...WHAT A CONCEPT! I mean, shouldn't we teach finances instead of how to place a condom? Or biblical financial principals instead of how to fill out a credit card application...But, you know if we did that we would actually be responsible for what our money does for us...or doesnt do in some peoples case.

Which leads me to my next point...
WHY do people think it is OK to spend our way out of a economic crisis? Simple knowledge is that debt comes from getting things you cannot afford...so to fix that we are supposed to borrow more money? I do not get it, I did not vote for it, I do not approve of it, I get so frustrated by it.
It is my prayer that my children, and for that matter their children, are not sacrificed for the here and now...

My lesson in all this...You bet your ass I will be financially stable! I have been totally made over thanks to Dave (and Wyatt) and we are well on our way to "living like no one else'"!

...need even more motivation? or just looking for a GREAT read? "The Shack" is one of the best fiction peices I have read in my entire life. It brings a renewal of faith, a fresh spirit and a new love for My Savior! Read it...I loved it!
