Blessingway... A celebration of my journey into motherhood

Definitely one of my new favorite traditions started back when I was a guest of the honored mom-to be Allison...this time I was the honored mom and that is exactly what I felt-so incredibly honored to be surrounded by such powerful and supportive women.

The blessingway is designed to celebrate a mom's journey into motherhood. Baby showers are fun and they are a wonderful way to gift new parents things they need; a blessingway, however, honors the mom and prepares her for the labor and delivery soon-to-come.

During the gathering, friends of the mother come together to give her support and encouragement as she waits for labor to begin. It is a wonderful and affirming time for her.

Blessingway ceremonies create a sacred and safe environment where a mother-to-be can explore the challenges and joys that lie before her as she approaches birthing and mothering. Surrounded by the most important women in her life, she gains a sense of power, confidence, and support that will help her rise to motherhood.

Birth is a key life passage for women. But modern culture has become preoccupied with the arrival of the baby-to-be and has lost touch with birth's profound impact on the expectant mother. While our most common birth preparations focus on getting women physically ready to give birth, the blessingway ceremony helps a woman to prepare mentally, emotionally, and spiritually for the work of birthing, and it opens her to her instinctive abilities, which will guide her as she steps into the role of mother.

my altar for the ceremony...full of stuff that have sentiment to the conception and pregnancy

I remember being a part of Allison's blessingway and the emotions that surrounded my heart were so real and true. The same was felt at my blessingway, except instead of giving support and love and encouragement, I was able to receive it from women that are truly close to me.

The experience was so unique and incomparable to anything I have ever done. By the end of the ceremony I felt ready to take on labor and delivery...and all that comes with it. Being that I have a fused spine and rods that rail-road-track up my spine, an epidural is out. I do not want a C-section for the same reason - the rods make my only option general anesthesia which means I am literally OUT and Wyatt isnt allowed in the operating room either. SO...our choice is to go all natural. I mean completely drug free--and I couldnt be any more excited!

Thank you Alli, for everything you did putting this event together! You are such a true and dear friend. Thank you to all the women of the circle for making this such a special event for me! I couldnt ask for any better support or more love!

I love all of you! - Kyla

Showered with love! Sugar Land shower for our baby girl!

I know I thought the first shower was incredible...but, Ashley, you take the cake when it comes to party planning! The house was transformed into a baby shower boutique! All the decorations, frames, tables and flowers from her "normal" home were changed to Wyatt, myself, baby A sonogram photos, pink, green and brown --ALL BABY!!

Baby Ainsley was showered again by some of my closest friends...friends from my childhood all the way through friends I met in college and after! Everything was so perfect, I was in tears!

A Louis Vuitton at a baby shower?...YES, at my baby shower this is totally appropriate! :)

all friends, all nurses! Amazing.

Two of my most favorite people :) I love my Manda and Ash!

Perfect set up for everything...Ashley definitely out-did herself!

Another amazing cake (yes, the same cake lady as wedding and first baby shower!)

"Sweet Pea" treats for all the guests!

Another great event of the evening...I found out my cousin Rachael is pregnant!

I would guess about 80 - 100 people FILLED Ashley's home...everything was incredible!

Manda me and Mel...missing Mrs Jamie but, soon...she'll be back to Texas!

This shower lasted all afternoon and the evening was met by all my family helping me unload and put away all the incredible gifts! This baby has no idea how much she is already loved...and definitely spoiled! (Just like her mom!)

Sbrusch River Trip 2010

Every year the Sbrusch family takes an annual trip to New Braunfels to float the freezing river! It isnt that freezing after you have been baking in the sun for over four hours :) but, when you first get in...its pretty dang cold!

This year, for me, it was a little different. No bikinis or cold beverages while basking the beautiful sun rays in a tube, no famous Gruene Hall Sangria, no crazy late nights laughing and doing goofy things...rather, a large belly, a tankini (which I find absolutely unattractive and awful), early nights due to extreme tiredness from a day of sun and being 8 months pregnant and all water!

the new...and MUCH larger camper!

night-time kisses :)

next year there will be 3!

about to go float!

Tim's belly is almost the size of mine...lol

Next year, we will have to really plan how baby A fits in the picture...Im not sure sharing a camper with a year-old baby girl is first on everyone's to-do list but, none the less, Im sure it will work itself out!

New Braunfels is always a blast and having a baby can only make things that much better! We will have to just wait and see how Ainsley takes to camping!

Celebrating 3 amazing years! Happy "C" Anniversary!

Celebrating 3 Amazing Years of true Happiness in Marriage.

Happy "C" anniversary to my best friend.

Today I am remembering when we first got together
and all those happy times we have shared since.

Today I am appreciating you for all the happiness you have brought to me through the years
for the strengths I knew you had from the beginning and the ones I didnt recognize until daily life made them clear to me.

Today I am celebrating all the good things about our relationship...the things that never seem to change, even with life's ups and downs.

Today I look to the future with such happy hopes and dreams for all 3 of us...because I still think fate brought us together for a reason, and I am still glad you are the one I am on this beautiful journey with.

Loving YOU always...

July 21, 2010...C

Three years I have been married to an amazing husband, strong Believer, incredible supporter, and my best friend. If someone were to tell me back in High School that my future husband would be from Needville...let alone I would be living in Needville and actually loving it...I wouldnt have believed them. I am not a Garth Brooks fan per-say but, his song "unanswered prayers" seems to fit my life to a T.

I had a fantastic childhood, an amazing and Godly family, a unique and truly special group of close friends and I dated a really special guy who taught me a lot. I thought I had everything figured out by 11th grade...HA! Was I wrong or what!? I tend to think of things in pictures or stories and the picture I see when I think about all my plans is God sitting on His throne, looking down at me and laughing to himself saying "ha...got you again" and my response is always a smile and a nod - with a little point right back up there saying "You sure did!"

The plans I make never seem to work quite the way I think they will but rather a little better in knowing that they are God's plans for my life...not mine.

So...here Wyatt and I are, three fun-filled years into an amazing marriage and expecting a HUGE blessing from the Creator himself. He has literally chosen us to be this child's parents!?! Woah!...kind of a lot to take in!

We celebrated our three years, the letter C of course, at Carrabbas Italian Grill reminiscing over the blessings we have received and the ultimate gift of the year...our Child. Wyatt, even though we had said we were just doing Cards, did get me a beautiful Cross for the cross wall...

Wyatt, I love you more than I ever thought possible.
"I have found the one whom my soul loves" Song of Soloman 3:4

Ainsley Joy is "showered" with love!

Our first experience with having a baby shower held in our honor was absolutely breathtaking. All of Wyatt's aunts got together and threw one sweet shower! The shower was held at Creekside Christian Fellowship, the church Wyatt and I attend, in the lakeside lobby. Everything was perfect. My mom and sister caem in town and all the friends and family were overwhelming! Even though Wyatt and I live in the small town of Needville, we have never had anything except a larger-than-life party! Back in 2007, we had a wedding of over 800 guests and now we are expecting our first baby girl and her "little" shower consisted of over 100 people! We are truly blessed by all of our amazing friends and family in and around the Needville area!

The cake was made by the same woman who made our wedding cakes...

and her past creations...

ALL of which get RAVE reviews on the fantastic decoration and extremely good taste!

Wyatt snuck in to help load the loot...and eat a bit :)

Like I said earlier...everything was so incredible! I couldnt have been more thrilled and happy to see everyone. The support a woman needs during a pregnancy is so important and I definitely feel as though I am surrounded by love! A huge "Thank You!" to everyone who made this day so incredibly special!
